“Legacy is more than leaving possessions behind. It’s about investing in people with passion and integrity through leadership and love. Remembering the founder Dr. N. P. Tolani, TMI celebrated Founders Day on 15th February 2023. TMI honoured Dr. N.P. Tolani's memory with an exuberant celebration involving numerous rhythmic dance performances, melodious musical performances and a skit that encapsulated the essence of Dr. N.P. Tolani's life and ideology. An evening shine to its glory with the assembly of the dignitaries and the cadets at the Dr. N.P. Tolani Memorial, all dressed smartly, their uniforms prim and proper. The event was graced with the presence of honourable Governing Council members of TMI. The event started with a floral tribute to Dr. N.P. Tolani's memorial and continued with the harmonious bhajan by TMI Bhajni Mandal which symbolised divinity, peace and devotion. The lyrics of Bhajan filled the spectators with a sense of purity, divinity and grace. The respected Principal of TMI, Dr. Sanjeet Kanungo welcomed the august gathering, after which the performances began in earnest. The TMI dance crew, Nrityayna blew the audience away with their sensational moves. Mesmerising Shiv Tandav & Hanuman Chalisa dances took over and left everyone in awe of its amazement. They performed back to back, and never once did the gaze of the spectator waver from them. The TMI musical club, Bandish went plus-ultra and one after the other, performed their extravagant renditions of popular songs that really lit up the evening and made the audience members tap their feet to the beats of the music. Not long after, the drama society of TMI, Nautanki India performed a well-scripted and impressively acted play depicting the phases of Dr.N.P. Tolani's life, which was filled with adventures and misadventures and eventually led to the formation of this venerable institution. TMI's beloved Chairperson, Dr. Sujata Naik shared with all present a few nuggets of wisdom and in her remembrance of Dr. N.P. Tolani, her father and guide, reintroduced us to his legend and legacy in a new way. The audience was greeted with a special tribute dance to pay homage to Dr. N.P. Tolani's colourful and rapturous life, on the dance form that he was particularly fond of; the Waltz. And thus, the event was concluded but not before a vote of thanks by Senior Vice Principal of TMI, Captain Manoj Hirkane. The air was effused with the emotions of the people who know about and even share Dr. N.P.Tolani's legacy, because he was a man of selflessness, and believed in sharing with society all that he had.
